10 Songs That Will Last Forever (1.0)

…And help us build the perfect, timeless playlist … by Nick West & Team TANRScreen Shot 2013-11-07 at 11.32.12 PM

Some kids dream of being astronauts when they grow up.  I, personally, have always dreamt about creating the perfect playlist.  The playlist of all playlists, so to speak.  One filled with gems of songs that, maybe you “haven’t listened to enough lately,” or that you’ll “never skip past on shuffle.”

Just timeless jams that even the largest of music snobs can’t deny. These songs may or may not have gotten huge, but none of that matters because they have that certain je ne sais quoi that transcends a top 40 smear campaign during their hay-days.

Granted, my subjective definition of songs that don’t age is most definitely different than yours, and that’s why I’m creating 10 iterations of this playlist (hence, the 1.0) One version every week for 10 weeks culminating in the greatest playlist of all time. Feel good, feel emotional, feel however you want to.

We are getting a little weird on this, and yes, there will be, at minimum, 2 Shaggy songs. So here’s 1.0:

Tracklist (1.0)
Shaggy – Boombastic
Mase – Feel So Good
Marvin Gaye – Got To Give It Up (Part 1)
Trick Daddy – I’m a Thug
Seal – Kiss From A Rose
No Doubt – Spiderwebs
Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony – Tha Crossroads
Fleetwood Mac – The Chain
The Roots – The Seed 2.0
Michael Jackson – The Way You Make Me Feel

What songs do you think will last forever? Sound off in the comments to get your song in the next list…

Would like to think at least one of the two below would make the cut:

    Scatman – Scatman John
    What is Love – Haddaway
