Tennis are Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, a waspy, retro duo with a surf-pop sound reminiscent of the 50’s. They’re also husband and wife. The two saved up together to buy a 30-foot sailboat, and upon graduating University of Colorado Denver with Philosophy degrees, they bypassed law school and skipped along the eastern seaboard for almost a year. Moore and Riley admit no actual music was made on the trip; instead, stops and experiences along the coast inspired a series of songs that would later become their first full-length album Cape Dory.
